Lonnie is from Nebraska and received his BS in biology from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1989. He continued his studies with US Army-Baylor to complete a Masters of Physical Therapy in 1991. Lonnie is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCC, 1993). He then became a certified athletic trainer (ATC) in 1996 and is Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS 1996, 2006). Lonnie is our lead therapist for trigger point dry needling (2012). In 2010, he and Gary Gilbert founded Peak Rehabilitation, Fitness, and Performance LLC.
Gary R. Gilbert PT, DPT
Gary comes from Northern California and received a B.S. in Human Movement from the University of Oregon in 1989. He then attended Army/Baylor graduating with a Master of Physical Therapy in 1991. His duty assignments included Walter Reed Army Medical Center, the Pentagon as Chief Physical Therapist, and Heidelburg, Germany from 1995-1998. Gary, his wife, and family moved to Augusta in 1998 to join Orthopaedic Associates Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine. In 2010, he and Lonnie Hergott founded Peak Rehabilitation, Fitness, and Performance LLC. Gary is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and received his Doctor in Physical Therapy from US Army/Baylor University in 2010.
Luke D. Heusel PT, DPT, OCS
Luke hails from Eastern Ohio and graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 1996 with a degree in Biology. He finished his M.A. in Human Performance and Health Promotion specializing in exercise physiology at the University of New Orleans in 1998. Luke graduated from the US Army/Baylor program with a master’s degree in physical therapy in 2000. He then moved to Augusta with his wife and family to serve at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Ft Gordon, GA and deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2002. Luke began at Orthopaedic Associates Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in 2005 after leaving the military. Luke received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from US Army/Baylor in 2008. He is board certified in orthopedics (OCS) and has McKenzie training in treating low back pain. Luke serves as the clinical education coordinator (CCCE) for physical therapy students and director of the Peak Performance Lab.
Karla N. Deal PT, MPT
Karla is a native of Roswell, Georgia. She received her B.S. degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina, Columbia and graduated from Medical College of Georgia with a Master of Physical Therapy in 2006. Karla joined the Orthopaedic Associates team in 2008 and transitioned to PEAK in 2010. She has previous physical therapy experience working in both acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings. Karla also has experience in coaching recreational and competitive gymnastics. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and traveling to the beach.
Vann F. Jordan, PT, DPT, OCS, cert DN
Vann graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2008 with a B.S. in Exercise Science and Physiology. He then attended the Medical University of South Carolina where he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2011. Vann has been employed by Peak since 2011 where he completed his orthopedic residency and is now a board certified orthopedic specialist (OCS). Vann treats all orthopedic conditions and has a special interest in the overhead athlete. He played competitive baseball at the collegiate level, has experience coaching high school baseball, and with competitive body building. He is our lead therapist for the Peak Strength and Conditioning Baseball and Softball programs.
Marie is a native of Augusta, GA and graduated with a degree in Biology from Ave Maria University in Naples, Florida in 2010. She continued her studies in physical therapy and graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of North Georgia in 2014. Marie has been a member of Peak Rehabilitation since 2014. She has completed a residency program through Evidence in Motion to obtain her orthopedic clinical specialist. She presented research at the American Congress for Rehabilitation Medicine in October 2013 and has obtained her dry needling certification. She is eager to use her knowledge to help you obtain your goals as quickly as possible.
Caleb graduated from The University of Georgia in 2011, where he studied athletic training. In his time at UGA, he worked with their football, softball, track and field, and competitive cheer teams. He also spent time working with the Jacksonville Jaguars during training camp and preseason. He continued his education at Georgia Regents University where he received his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2014. He continued his commitment to improving patient outcomes by participating in an orthopedic residency program to receive his board certification in orthopedics (OCS). Caleb is our clinical education director to include oversight of the residency through Evidence in Motion and our CCE for PT students. He is a member of American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Caleb is passionate about improving your quality of life and returning you to function.
