dry needling
Trigger point dry needling is a specialized technique used for the treatment of muscle tightness and pain and movement impairments.
Through this technique, a “dry needle,” one without medication or injection, is inserted through the skin into areas of muscle, tendon and fascia to release trigger points, knotted tissue and tangled fascia. While the name may sound intimidating, dry needling is safe and performed by skilled, trained physical therapists, certified in the procedure.
While dry needling has shown to have great applications in treatment of muscular trigger points and pain, it’s one technique that’s part of a larger treatment plan.
